2025 Life Teen Service Retreat

Sacred Heart Life Teen x Catholic Charities of Acadiana

Join us for our FIRST EVER service retreat! We are so excited to continue working with Catholic Charities who we worked with this summer during the Home Mission.

This retreat is free for teen! It will be Friday evening and all day Saturday. Friday night we will have dinner, some formation, and time in community. Saturday morning we will gather at Sacred Heart and then head to the work sites Catholic Charities has for us in Rayne. We will work all day then head back to Sacred Heart for dinner and time in prayer - wrapping up Saturday evening.

We often think mission needs to happen elsewhere. Usually a mission trip is only considered a mission trip if it is abroad. Quite frankly, we have more than enough mission for us in our own backyard! St. John Paul the Second, our patron for the weekend said in Redemptoris Missio:

"If we truly have started out anew from the contemplation of Christ, we must learn to see him especially in the faces of those with whom he himself wished to be identified (when he said): 'I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me'". 

This is so true! Mission starts in our homes with our families, then extending to our community. We cannot wait to serve together as the Life Teen community in such a special way!
